If you have nerve pain which is coming from compression or irritation of a nerves in your neck or lower back, manual therapy, such as myofascial release, joint mobilisations and acupuncture/dry needling can be helpful. Nerve gliding exercises may help once there is less pressure on the nerve. These treatments help to reduce the pressure on the nerve tissue, allowing it to be less inflammed and irritated, reducing your pain. You may need medications to help reduce the sensitivity of the nerve while you are having manual therapy, but some people find improvement without it.
